The Rosberg – Hamilton duel restarts in Belgium

We had left Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton on an epic Hungarian Grand Prix between the fire of the Briton's W05 Hybrid in qualifying, his exit at the second corner of the race and his lightning recovery in the race with the famous order not respected by the 2008 World Champion towards his teammate German.

A few hours before the resumption of the debates, Mercedes aims to do even better than the first part of the season, which was already almost perfect. “We approach the remaining eight races with the objective of doing in this next phase of the season even better than what we have achieved so far, indicated Toto wolff, boss of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport. The team has done a fantastic job, but we are fully aware that this championship is far from being decided, as the performance of some of our competitors clearly demonstrated in Hungary. As always, we take nothing for granted. »

As for the drivers, Lewis Hamilton will arrive on a track which has been more successful for him in the past than for his teammate. “I had good results here since 2008 and also during my first visit to the circuit with the team last year (3rd). I haven't won there as many times as I would like, but the 2010 win was really special, so I really want to add one more and that's definitely the goal for this weekend. » Championship leader NIco Rosberg explains that all points will now count. “The battle with Lewis has been very close since the start of the season, and could remain like this until the end of the year. So all points will count. My performances in Belgium have not been as good as at other circuits during my career, but I am determined to change that, and restart the season in the best possible way. »

First elements of response on the internal confrontation at Mercedes from Friday morning and the first free practices in the Ardennes.
