Vagueness reigns regarding Alonso

The future of Fernando Alonso in Renault is increasingly uncertain for next season. We know the Spaniard?s attraction to Ferrari and the existence of an agreement with the Italian team is no longer frankly ruled out. Just as there is no longer any possibility of an agreement between the bosses of the two teams in order to postpone the execution of this agreement until later, at the end of 2010. “ It is clear that the understanding and perfect cohesion between Ferrari and us on the political field does not prevent us from being adversaries on the track. », underlines one of the members of Renault F1.

In fact, the crux of the problem is still Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari), who holds his contract like the apple of his eye. This runs until the end of 2010 and unless purchased at a high price (28 million euros), the Finn is not ready to abandon it. He is also waiting to find a good place elsewhere which is not in keeping with the times. Ferrari also does not seem ready to pay this sum to compensate its driver while two large salaries, those of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso, will also have to be honored. Finally, despite the very strong desire of Ferrari's next big sponsor to see "his" driver join the Scuderia, Santander does not want to squander his money.

The lying poker game that has been set up does not seem ready to find an epilogue. For now, everyone is watching and working behind the scenes a few days before the Hungarian Grand Prix, the 10th round of the season.
