The 69th edition of the Italian GP will once again be contested on the Monza circuit, as has always been the case with the exception of the 1980 season when it was Imola which received this honor.

La Team Ferrari will be aiming for a 6th victory this season as they seek to regain power at home after having been defeated since 2011. The Prancing Horse has not won on home soil since the victory of Fernando Alonso in 2010, but he still remains the most successful manufacturer on his land with 18 victories, McLaren next with 10 successes. This is the absolute record for a manufacturer on a circuit.

Mercedes remains undefeated on the Italian track since 2014 and will have the opportunity to continue her streak since Lewis Hamilton There are notably 4 successes including the one recorded last year. The Briton leads the Championship with 17 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel could also win his 79th pole this weekend in F1.

The other quadruple world champion in the running for a 5th coronation will nevertheless have his say since the German has won three times. twice with Red Bull in 2011 and 2013 but especially in 2008. It was on this occasion that he was able to taste the joys of Grand Prix victory by offering what remains to this day the only success of Toro Rosso.

Conversely, Red Bull will have a hard time claiming victory on a regular basis on a track that favors top speed. The Red Bull has not won since 2013. In addition, Max Verstappen has so far never shone at Monza since the Dutchman has never started or finished the race in the Top 6.

However, qualifying seems to play a crucial role at Monza since the pole sitter has won 14 times in the last 18 Grands Prix (only ten times for the Monaco GP).
