Chinese GP officially postponed

The coronavirus epidemic which is raging in China in particular foreshadowed a postponement of the Chinese GP scheduled for April 19 on the Shanghai circuit. The postponement of the event was confirmed by the FIA ​​which did not reveal a later date.

“The promoter of the Chinese GP, Juss Sports Group, has officially requested that the race be postponed, informed the Federation. The FIA ​​and the F1 have decided to accept this official request from the promoters and postpone the Chinese Grand Prix. Due to health concerns and the WHO treating coronavirus as a global health emergency, the FIA ​​and F1 have taken these measures to ensure the safety of staff, participants and the public. »

If the Chinese GP is postponed, there is no guarantee that the event will be able to take place this year due to the already busy F1 calendar and the measures that need to be put in place for the event to take place at a later date.
