The Chinese Grand Prix will remain on the calendar of the F1 for at least three years. The Shanghai International Circuit should continue to host the discipline from 2018 to 2020 after celebrating its 14th edition this year following its debut in 2004.
“We are very pleased to have extended this agreement which will see the Chinese Grand Prix remain a regular event for at least three years, comments F1 director Chase Carey. This fantastic country has already shown incredible interest in our discipline and we still firmly believe that there is still unexplored potential. This is why this agreement is so important in our development strategy, mainly in this part of the globe. »
The announcement also confirmed that the next edition of the Chinese GP will be contested on April 15, a week after the Bahrain Grand Prix.
