Miami GP expected for 2021

Liberty Media is keen to have its second Grand Prix in the USA and seems to have finally succeeded in achieving it. Hard Rock Stadium has confirmed the arrival of the F1 in 2021, the structure will accommodate the paddock. This stadium designed for the Miami Dolphins NFL club is owned by Stephen Ross and Wayne Huizenga.

“We are delighted to announce that F1 and Hard Rock Stadium have reached an agreement in principle for Hard Rock Stadium to host the inaugural Miami GP, Sean Bratches, F1's director of commercial operations and Tom Garfinkel, vice-president and CEO of Hard Rock Stadium, later confirmed in a statement. With economic benefits estimated at $400 million and 35 hotel rooms booked, the Miami GP will have a notable impact on the economy in South Florida each year. »

“We are grateful to the public, elected officials and the local tourism industry for their patience and support through this process. We are working to bring great races around the world and for the first time in one of the most attractive regions. »

F1 organizers have launched a F1 Festival in the wheels of the Florida city last year to prepare the ground. The implementation of the Grand Prix was nevertheless delayed, in particular by opposition from local residents. Scheduled in the city center, the race should ultimately be contested in the suburbs.

We now have to wait for formalization from the authorities and the FIA to definitively include this event on the calendar for the 2021 season.
