The Turkish GP soon to return?

The Turkish Grand Prix could soon return to the calendar of the F1. Chase Carey, the managing director of F1 at Liberty Media, met this Tuesday April 11 with the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Serkan Yazici, the president of Tosfed (Turkish Motor Sports Federation), and Vural Ak, the director of the Istanbul circuit, were also present at this meeting.

“We will soon be in a position to announce developments regarding the return of F1 to Turkey.”, confirmed Tosfed in a press release.

Turkey hosted F1 seven times between 2005 and 2011. The Istanbul circuit remained on the international scene, notably hosting the World RX in 2014 and 2015. The future calendar of the discipline will be Malaysian GP amputee but will benefit from the return of France and Germany.
