The Spanish GP, a new challenge for Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton prepares to get back behind the wheel of his Mercedes next weekend with the Spanish Grand Prix which will mark the start of the European season. The hierarchy could evolve with the three-week break which allowed the teams to develop new developments, but the performances of the W05s since Melbourne as well as those of the 2008 world champion make the latter a solid contender for victory. “This break was good, whether for the drivers or for the team who worked hard during all these weeks”, comments the Briton. “But after these three great weekends in Malaysia, Bahrain and China, I feel ready for the next event and I remain positive. »

The Mercedes driver has reason to be in good spirits since he remains on three consecutive victories and he dominates his teammate Nico Rosberg who won in Melbourne, taking advantage of the retirement of the former world champion. After adding Sepang and Bahrain to his list of achievements, Lewis Hamilton is now aiming for a first success on the Catalunya circuit. “Barcelona is a magnificent place to contest the first European race on the calendar. It's a track that we all know very well, although it will be the first time that I have driven here without having carried out testing during the winter. The Spanish public is also passionate about motorsport and it's nice to see all these stands filled throughout the weekend. I never imposed myself in Barcelona but I am in a good position at the moment and I hope that it will be the good year, although the favorite of the public is no doubt (referring to Fernando Alonso). This circuit is fantastic, our car is performing very well so far and I expect to have a great race. »
