Brazil voted best Grand Prix of the 2024 season by AUTOhebdo readers

Loyal readers of AUTOhebdo, you were called to vote to elect your best Grand Prix of the 2024 season of Formula 1…and without any real surprise, it was the Brazilian Grand Prix that received the most votes! Out of the 24 races in the championship, 47,55% of you voted for the Brazilian round, which saw Max Verstappen to prevail in the rain in front of the two Alpine byEsteban Ocon et Pierre Gasly.
It must be said that Interlagos was the scene of a completely crazy race on November 3rd. Author of the pole position the day after his victory in the Sprint race, Lando Norris had a golden opportunity to reduce the gap on Max Verstappen in the championship while the latter, trapped in Q2 and penalized, started only in 17th place. That was without counting on the tropical weather in São Paulo and the Paulista rain, always so unpredictable and hellish!
Halfway through the race, heavy rain reshuffled the cards and benefited the most daring who had stayed on track with intermediate tyres despite the soggy tarmac. Max Verstappen, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly were the only ones to wait until the last moment, a possible red flag that was finally deployed after Franco Colapinto's accident under the Safety Car. Benefiting from a free stop, the three men were able to set off again at the front while Lando Norris, guilty of small costly errors, only finished 6th in this crazy Grand Prix.
A blow to the Briton who saw his chances of the title disappear, but a perfect Sunday for Alpine who signed an incredible double podium, propelling the French team from 9th to 6th place in the Constructors' Championship! A totally unexpected result for the A fléché, which had been having a black season until then. After the Brazilian Grand Prix, you chose the British Grand Prix with the victory of Lewis Hamilton (16,44% of the votes) and the Italian Grand Prix (9,39% of the votes) with the triumph of Charles Leclerc as your second and third best Grands Prix of the year 2024.

Interlagos, Silvestone and Monza, the winning trio without any dispute, the influence of the weather having contributed well for the first 2! And when we look at the ranking, the first 5 tracks are good old fashioned circuits ... far from the modern "tilkesque" creations whether they are urban or not!
