Russian Grand Prix meets deadline

Russia is facing a huge challenge with the upcoming holding of its very first Grand Prix scheduled for 2014. The organizers of the event are observing with interest the progress of the work which mixes with that of the structures reserved for the Winter Olympic Games contested the same year. The news from Sochi is good as the report indicates that several buildings are already in their final stages of construction. The 5,8km route is also starting to take shape with the first layers already laid in places.

“Many structures for the Olympic Games have already been erected… while the motorsport arena is entering its construction phase”, comments the organizers in a press release. “The construction teams are making good progress in preparing the operations and carrying out the coating of the circuit. » Hermann Tilke, the designer of many circuits on the calendar of the F1, is also closely monitoring the progress of the work and hopes to experience the same success as in Austin. “Together with Omega (the construction company) and Formula Sochi, we are heavily involved in the Russian Grand Prix project and we are delighted to see that all works are on schedule given the high level of coordination required with the construction of the Olympic structures. »
