The fifth edition of the European Grand Prix on the Valencia street circuit will be held this weekend in Spain, but while waiting for the first free practice sessions which will take place on Friday, here are some figures concerning this Formula 1 world championship event.

In 6: Si Michael Schumacher has already won six times at a European Grand Prix, the seven-time world champion Formula 1 hasn't done it yet in Valencia. The record holder for the number of victories on this route is Sebastian Vettel, which distinguished itself during the two previous editions.

In 6: Ferrari holds the record for the number of victories at a European Grand Prix thanks to six victories (4 from Michael Schumacher, 1 from Rubens Barrichello and Felipe Massa). However, on the Valencia circuit, it is Red Bull Racing who leads the debates thanks to Sebastian Vettel's two victories in 2010 and 2011.

In 6: Michael Schumacher is the master of the fastest lap in a race at a European Grand Prix. The German driver was the fastest on six occasions and apart from Felipe Massa, who achieved a best lap twice in the race, all the other drivers were satisfied with one unit.

In 22:
This year, the European Grand Prix will be held for the fifth time on the Valencia street circuit, but it will be the 22nd edition under this name. Previously it was held 12 times at the Nürburgring, 2 at Brands Hatch and Jerez de la Frontera once at Donington.

In 24: Last year, 24 drivers crossed the finish line in Valencia. This constitutes the record number of single-seaters at the finish of a Grand Prix, the previous record dating from the 2011 Chinese Grand Prix with 23 cars at the finish.

In 1304: As is often the case, Michael Schumacher is the driver who has covered the most kilometers at the head of a Grand Prix, the European one is no exception to the rule. With 1304 units, the German is well ahead of his compatriot Sebastian Vettel who led 612 kilometers.

In 1985: It was during the 1985 European Grand Prix thatAlain Prost won his first world title in the Formula 1 world championship. The Frenchman took fourth place while his main opponent Michele Alboreto had to retire.

1'38"683: The lap record on the Valencia street circuit was set by Timo Glock in 2009. The German driver completed his best race lap in 1'38"683 while the qualifying record was set by Sebastien Vettel in 1' 36”975 in 2011.
