New Jersey Grand Prix on schedule

Bernie Ecclestone had to limit himself to 19 Grands Prix for the 2013 season with the trip to Valencia (European Grand Prix) having disappeared from the calendar. But the FOM director stressed that he was in favor of more races for the future of the F1. The 2014 season will thus welcome two new races with the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi and the New Jersey Grand Prix which will become the second event to be contested on American soil after the Austin Grand Prix. The latter was to host the discipline this year but the delay in the work forced the organizers to postpone the project for a year.

Having practically completed the paddock work, the next step will be the creation of the track which should begin soon. New Jersey Grand Prix promoter Leo Hindery Jr told the Business Daily that work was now progressing satisfactorily. “ I think Bernie made the right decision by postponing the event. We have resumed construction. We have the authorizations which are still in progress and we will carry out the race calmly probably in the middle of 2014. The construction of the track will begin around September when the weather will be more conducive to this type of work. The second part that demands attention includes transportation on the Hudson River. »
