Bottas' big comeback, named Mercedes reserve

Since the official announcement of his departure from Sauber a few weeks ago, Valtteri Bottas animated social networks with a question: What's next? Well, the answer is in. After several publications on his accounts, the Finn was named a reservist of Mercedes from next season. A return home 3 years after his departure for the man who wore the colours of the German team from 2017 to 2021 for a total of 10 victories and 20 pole positions in particular.

If his last three campaigns with Sauber have been sluggish, notably that of 2024 with a blank counter after 24 Grands Prix, Valtteri Bottas believes that his history with the F1 is far from over. Despite the challenges of recent years, I know I still have a lot to bring to F1.He says. Ever since I grew up in Nastola, Finland, at the age of five, my goal has been to succeed at the highest level of motorsport. I have been fortunate to experience many incredible moments in the 12 years I have spent in F1 so far..
Coming back to a place where we have experienced so many highlights, I look forward to putting all my knowledge at the service of the team to help them perform and progress towards our goal of contending for the world championships. »
Among the Germans, Valtteri Bottas comes to take over the position left vacant after the departure of Mick Schumacher at the end of November.

Question: If AKA has a sluggish start in F1, will Toto get him out by putting the mule cyclist back in the second Mercedes? It's hard to imagine Toto disowning himself with his long-time protégé!
