“The presence of Formula 1 in the city for three more years has been achieved for the first time thanks to a new financing model in which public resources are not used, comments Claudia Sheinbaum, head of government of the city of Mexico City.

Previously, the federal government collaborated in financing the event. The government of Mexico will act as an intermediary and create trust to mobilize the private investments necessary for the realization of this international event. Ticket prices will remain the same as in previous years. »

“We are pleased to have renewed our partnership with Mexico City, further specifies Chase Carey, CEO of Formula 1 at Liberty Media. Since its return to the calendar in 2015, this event has always been extremely popular with audiences and fans, not only in Mexico, but also around the world.

The proof is that the race promoter has won the FIA Best Event Award no less than four years in a row and that during these four years, more than 1,3 million spectators attended the Grand Prix. »

The Mexican round will take place this year on October 27.
