The world of motorsport pays tribute to Jean-Pierre Jabouille

French and world motorsport lost a great man this Thursday, February 2. Winner of two Grands Prix and first driver to win a race with Renault In 1979, Jean-Pierre Jabouille died at the age of 80.

Sad news for all lovers of the Losange but also of Peugeot of which he was one of the spearheads of the 905 in 24 Hours of Le Mans. In France, where he was one of the pioneers of F1, Jean-Pierre Jabouille was praised by his peers, whether from his time or more recent.

« I'm devastated to have said goodbye to you, writes his son Victor on social networks. You were a pillar of strength for me and your loss leaves a huge void in my life. Without Le Grand Blond, Renault's F1 epic would never have existed and he will forever be the first winner of the turbo era at the wheel of the Yellow Tea Pot! RIP Mister Jabouille
