The German Grand Prix is supposed to be contested alternately between the Hockenheim and Nürburgring circuits in order to limit costs for the organizers. Nürgurg must be included on the calendar for the 2013 season but concerns have increased regarding the economic situation of the circuit. Despite government assistance, the organizers did not seem able to ensure the arrival of the F1 next year. However, the latter confirmed that the contract would be signed before the end of the year with the FOM.
Karl-Heinz Steinkülher, spokesperson for the Nürburgring organizers, confirmed to the Bild newspaper that the alternation could be carried out next year. “The F1 world knows that the event will take place on July 7 at the Nürburgring. The contract will be signed before the end of the year. » The GP2 and GP3 Series contested alongside the Grands Prix have already integrated the circuit into their calendar.
