The health security plan will dictate whether or not the 2020 Austrian GP takes place

La Formula 1 and Liberty Media announced at the end of April their intention to kick off the 2020 season in earnest at the Red Bull Ring in Austria the weekend of July 3 to 5. A desire which would imply an extremely rigorous health system, with tests on the presence of Covid-19 in the paddock, the absence of spectators or even journalists.

Asked about this scenario by local radio O1, Health Minister Rudolf Anschober indicated that the approval of the Austrian government will depend on the effectiveness of the plan presented by F1 officials.

“We will only allow such events under extremely strict conditions. I think it is obvious that in this situation there cannot be large gatherings.

I'm not an F1 fan, but that hardly matters. The green light (for the holding of the Austrian GP) depends entirely on the security plan drawn up by the organizers. »
