Honda Power Unit makes itself heard at Toro Rosso

2018 will mark a new beginning for Toro Rosso. The Faenza team in Italy will indeed benefit from the V6 turbo / hybrid Honda block from this season, replacing the engine Renault.

The Japanese engine manufacturer, exclusively engaged with McLaren since his return in 2015, has been counting on Franz Tost's structure to try to raise his level after months of difficulty.

The STR13 chassis – Honda RA618H engine coupling has been made and Toro Rosso has published a video where the Japanese Power Unit is heard.

Pierre Gasly et Brendon Hartley will drive the STR13, which must be presented at 8:10 a.m. on February 26, the morning of the first off-season tests. Toro Rosso published a rather amusing FAQ in the afternoon on certain remarks after this first start.

Q. Did it take six attempts to get started?
A. No, the engine started on the first try.

Q. Do you realize that the engine shown in the photo is last year's Honda?
A. Yes, friend with an attentive eye. We are the ones who mentioned it. We clearly can't show this year's engine, right?

Q. Did the engine explode?
A. Quite the opposite. It started as expected.

Q. Did your plant catch fire after starting the engine?
A. Our factory is doing well. Thank you for your concern.

Q. “Good luck.” You will need it. »
A. That's not really a question, but thank you. We take it.
