De Silvestro's testing program halted

Clean F1 Team announced that the testing program started in February with Simona de Silvestro had been arrested. While the 26-year-old Swiss hoped to become the first female starter in F1 in almost three decades, the teamHinwil evoked “financial problems coming from the pilot” who had nevertheless carried out several promising private test sessions at the wheel of the C31 from the 2012 season and who was to take part in free practice for the US Grand Prix in Austin (Texas) at the end of the month.

“Everyone who worked with her over the last six months is very disappointed to end like this because they loved working with her,” commented a spokesperson relayed by the Reuters agency. The Swiss structure nevertheless wanted to clarify that it was looking for other solutions for Simona de Silvestro even if the team is experiencing significant financial difficulties.
