After a month-long spring break caused by the absence of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, the Formula 1 is back with the fourth event of the season in Miami. After a start to the season that has already established a hierarchy dominated by Mercedes BenzThe cards may be reshuffled at the Florida race. The FIA has indeed taken advantage of this month without action to revise its 2026 regulations, which have been heavily criticized since their implementation.
Mercedes therefore arrives as the favorite, despite the new regulations, bolstered by its three consecutive victories and a dominance that has not yet suffered any serious challenge. McLarenFerrari, which promises a completely revamped MCL40 after using the break to accelerate its development, will be looking to confirm the progress seen in Japan — rather than the difficult debuts in Australia and Shanghai. Ferrari, for its part, is currently the second team on the grid, but is still unable to consistently challenge the Silver Arrows. Team However, it will be one of the teams benefiting from ADUO (Additional Design and Improvement Opportunities), perhaps allowing it to catch up with Mercedes. Red BullOn the other hand, is going through a much more difficult period with a challenging RB22 and a Max Verstappen whose future in sport is the subject of increasingly insistent speculation.

Alongside the Grand Prix, the Formula 2 This weekend marks a historic journey: for the first time in its history, Formula 1's feeder series is heading to America. The series, which was initially slated to open its season in the Middle East before the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix were removed from the calendar, will officially launch its 2026 championship at the Miami circuit. This unprecedented situation will be a surprise for the drivers, most of whom will be discovering the track for the first time, with their sights set on a title that could pave the way to Formula 1.
The Miami Grand Prix schedule has been moved forward by three hours by the FIA, F1, and the local promoter, taking place overnight from Saturday to Sunday. The race will now start at 7:00 PM CET, instead of 10:00 PM as originally planned. This change follows a high risk of thunderstorms in the circuit area, which would have prevented the Grand Prix from running smoothly. Consequently, Sunday's Formula 2 race has also been moved forward to 3:25 PM CET.
