That's it ! The location of the 20th and antepenultimate round of the 2021 season is known. As anticipated in recent weeks and announced in the columns of N°2329 and more recently in those of N°2331 of AUTOhebdo, Qatar will host the Formula 1 for the first time in its history from November 19 to 21, thus definitively completing the current campaign calendar.

This first Qatar Grand Prix will take place on the Losail circuit, used to welcoming the MotoGP since 2004. And as for the premier two-wheel category, the race will be contested at night.

In addition to being included in the final calendar for this season, the Qtar has signed a 10-year partnership with Formula 1 to become a permanent round from 2023. Qatar has shown a strong desire to help F1, we can read in the official press release. During this process, the possibility of a longer partnership was discussed and accepted for a period of 10 years. Between being a backup solution and becoming a long-term sleeve, there was only one step that was easy to take. ».

The start of the Qatar Grand Prix will be at 18:00 p.m. local time (17:00 p.m. French time) and will return in 2023 after a year of absence due to the 2022 Football World Cup, organized on Qatari territory. The circuit for the next editions remains to be confirmed unless that of Losail is modified.

Qatari money! A 10-year lease, but not necessarily in Losail? Hence a potential another circuit to be built in less deadly working conditions than for the 2022 Football World Cup...
