For 2023, Daniel Ricciardo is fixed. With only one place still available on the grid on the side of Haas where the choice has not yet been made, the Australian knows that he will not be there next season. He himself recently confirmed it. However, he does not intend to draw a line under the F1 and is already considering a return from 2024.

If he is guaranteed not to be on the grid in 2023, barring a turnaround, Daniel Ricciardo could be tempted by a role as a reserve next year. In recent weeks, rumors have sent him to the side of Mercedes. The German team could indeed enlist his services to establish him in 2024 in the event of non-extension of Lewis Hamilton whose contract ends in December 2023 after losing Stoffel Vandoorne and Nyck de Vries. But right now, it's all just speculation, according to the pilot. McLaren who wants to see his counterpart extend his adventure in F1.

« The truth is I want him to stay in this sport, assures the Australian. He's one of the greatest drivers of all time and I think competing with him, going wheel to wheel against him, it's fun, it's great. I want to continue doing this in the future.

This is where the situation stands. I don't think my future depends on what other people do. Opportunities will present themselves when they have to present themselves but I'm not counting on anyone else to find my way.. » It's up to him to find the best compromise for 2023 to hope for a new tenure in 2024 failing to move a little further away from F1.
