The return of the Dutch GP definitively postponed to 2021

Among the races postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Dutch Grand Prix will not be back this year on the calendar F1.

The organizers of the event confirmed this Thursday that the event contested on the legendary Zandvoort track will return in 2021. “We were totally ready for this first race and we still are, comments Jan Lammers, Grand Prix director.

An incredible achievement was possible thanks to all the fans, businesses and governments involved. We and Formula 1 explored the possibility of holding a rescheduled race this year without spectators, but we wanted to celebrate this moment with our fans.

We ask everyone to be patient. I’ve been looking forward to it for 35 years, so I can wait another year.”

Zandvoort had notably undertaken major work to modernize its facilities and repair the runway, with the addition of two bankings. The organizers have confirmed that tickets for the 2020 edition remain valid for next year.
