Motorsport towards a restart from July 4 in Great Britain

Motorsport UK, the governing body of British motorsport, recently announced the resumption of its activities from July 4, with the government suspension lasting until June 30.

Several guides concerning the circuit or the rally have already been published to provide a regulatory framework for the resumption of activities, and permits will be issued for the organization of events.

Other information of prime importance, the FIA series should be able to be held in July on British soil, going in the direction of British government intervention for F1.

“No national or British championship events will take place in July to reduce potential domestic and international travel (excluding FIA championships), says Motorsport UK.

There will be a number of caveats to the granting of event permits, including that event organizers commit to their events being held behind closed doors, that appropriate requirements for protective equipment are respected and that each organizer must appoint a COVID-19 manager to ensure compliance with the guidelines.

Additionally, there will be a limit on the number of permits issued for July at 50% of the 2019 number, so that there are enough officials and commissioners available to support the restart in a safe and responsible manner. »
