Motorsport reacts to the death of Beltoise

There were numerous reactions on the Web following the announcement of death of Jean-Pierre Beltoise occurred on the night of January 4 to 5 following a vascular accident. This racing legend shone in every discipline he competed in, making him one of the most complete drivers.

Romain Grosjean was one of the first to speak out on the Internet upon hearing the sad news. “RIP Jean-Pierre Beltoise. I hope one day to win the Monaco Grand Prix like you did…”, commented the Lotus driver on Twitter.

Sébastien Bourdais, another compatriot who followed in the footsteps of Jean-Pierre Beltoise, had a thought.  “A French motorsport great has left us, rest in peace Mr Beltoise. »

Éric Boullier, Team Principal of McLaren : “Rest in peace Jean-Pierre Beltoise, our thoughts are with his friends and family. »

Even Mercedes F1, the reigning champion Drivers and Teams team, was affected. “We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jean-Pierre Beltoise, winner of the 1972 Monaco GP. A great talent on two wheels and on four has left us. Our sincere condolences go to his family and loved ones. » McLaren also paid tribute to the deceased.
