As indicated on the official website of the F1, Two-Axis Management installed on the Mercedes W11 should not be regulatory in 2021, as part of the expected major technical change.

The 2021 technical regulations, published on the FIA ​​website at the end of 2019, mention in its article 10.5.2, a section relating to the steering system: “the realignment of the steering wheels, as defined by the position of the inner attachment of the suspension elements concerned which remain at a fixed distance from each other, must be defined only by a monotonic function of the rotation of a single steering wheel. »

The front – back movement of the steering wheel, seen on the drivers’ on-board cameras Mercedes would therefore not be included in this definition.
