It's really not good to be a pilot Alpine right now. Between the very probable shutdown of the engine program, an A424 that is moving backwards instead of forwards, Pierre Gasly et Esteban Ocon have some issues to deal with, both on and off the track. The team is working to get its head above water, but despite all these efforts, the results are not following.

Since the season resumed at Zandvoort, the French team has only seen points once in four Grands Prix. It was precisely in the Netherlands thanks to Pierre Gasly's 9th place. In the meantime, the Monza-Baku-Singapore sequence was terrible for the Blues, with a 12th place as their best result and above all a fall to 9th place in the Constructors' ranking while Haas et Williams gradually release them.

« Overall we are very slow, assures simply Pierre Gasly. So that forces us to play with strategies. It's not nice at all. Three races ago, in Zandvoort, we were in the top 10. The last three we've been nowhere. There's a lot of work to do because there seems to be a real gap to the top 10 at the moment. »

With a four-week break before Austin (October 18-20), the Norman expects thatAlpine takes the opportunity to remobilize for the last 6 meetings of the campaign. Because at the time of starting them, they are 9th, 3 points behind Williams in front of them and 18 behind Haas. A chasm given the dynamics of each team recently.

« We must seek to make enormous steps forward, he points. I think we are something like 30 seconds away from the top 10. It is not good enough. We have to do a better job. I know the team is capable of it. We have to take advantage of this break in the best possible way to come back with a stronger package because at the moment we are the 9th fastest car. Couldn't be clearer.

Next year is going to be a long one for Pierre, and by jumping ship before it sinks, Ocon will probably come out of it better. In any case, Renault has a strong interest in no longer associating its name with this team that no longer deserves its place in F1.

The Briatore/Oaks duo has clearly had no real impact on the performance of the team and the car. "Il Magnifico" Flavio is only there to sell - eventually with an engine supply contract? - the team, Renault Group needing money as proven by the recent sale of 5% of Nissan's capital for nearly 500 million euros, the third in less than a year!

a talent wasted by a team of useless people, long pretentious (now, it's harder to be). we'll have to deal with the same gp2 engine (from the "geniuses" of viry) for next year, before selling thanks to the t-shirt merchant! for gasly, we have to hope that he can bounce back where his talent can be expressed
