As the Miami Grand Prix seemed to be entering its final third in a calmer context than expected, Ferrari came to add some spice. Seventh and eighth, the two drivers of the Team were still a good distance behind Kimi Antonelli, several seconds behind the Italian, but seemed to want to act.
Eighth, Lewis Hamilton had medium tires, and seemed to be getting impatient with the passing of a team order allowing him to accelerate. Unable to challenge the pace of the Mercedes, the Briton finally had to change his mind, to let another pass Charles Leclerc no less in difficulty thereafter.
Speaking to Canal+, Charles Leclerc was asked to comment on this moment, which caused a certain irritation for both protagonists. "I don't know what Lewis was asking, but in any case, I don't blame him at all.", he defused without delay. I think the goal for both of us is to try to maximize the result. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough discussion on my side before swapping positions because at that point I'm trying to save my tires for the end. Afterwards, I was asked to change, which I did straight away, but that's it... Afterwards, it didn't necessarily pay off, that's how it is. »
Clearly at least as unhappy as his teammate, Charles Leclerc did not fail to express his desire to see the team raise its level in such a situation.. "It's difficult but there are things we're going to talk about with the team, he added, failing to publicly clarify his opinion. We can only improve, but clearly we have to be better than that because it's not a pretty weekend like that."
Ferrari's lack of communication to blame
For his part, Lewis Hamilton appeared very angry on the radio. While his engineer informed him of the lead he held over Carlos SainzThe seven-time world champion ironically asked if he should also let the Spaniard through after opening the door to Charles Leclerc. On this point, the driver again played down the details, suggesting that Ferrari did not communicate all the details to its drivers.
"I don't know what his perspective or situation was. The first time I was asked to change, I did it 100 meters later, he commented. Not to say he didn't do it! I just did it on my side as soon as it was asked of me, so it's not that it dragged on on my side. Afterwards, I don't know what the discussions were before that between Lewis and the team. I think we did what was asked of us, after that we'll have to look at all that."
The first notable disagreement of the Scuderia's season, this incident will be watched for its consequences. At first glance, the two drivers don't seem to be blaming each other, but the Italian team's management needs to be reviewed to avoid a similar episode in the coming weeks.

The perfect son-in-law is starting to get annoying, frustrated and disappointed by his bad red car that he had dreamed of so much. Many people have burned their wings in this shitty stable.

Leclerc didn't have a memorable weekend, except for his impressive performance on the formation lap of the Sprint Race! As for Hamilton, be careful not to alienate the fans and the Scuderia, who will have no qualms about firing him, as previous attempts have taken place at Maranello...

This isn't the first time Hamilton has criticized the team, after the incident where his car wasn't the same as Leclerc's. He's taken a huge hit because here he's not the number 1 who's obeyed like at Mercedes, and by constantly criticizing Ferrari, the atmosphere will get worse and this "transfer of the century" will turn into a damp squib. Don't forget that Ferrari has never hesitated to fire world champions who complained about the team.
