Charles Leclerc has reason to be disappointed. The Monegasque led the French Grand Prix before making a mistake on the double right at Beausset, on worn tires. The pilot Ferrari lost the rear of his car before hitting the wall from the front. Unable to restart, Leclerc finally had to give up, for the third time this season after Barcelona and Baku.

At the Canal + microphone in the paddock, the Scuderia driver was angry with himself. “Nothing special, it was just a mistake.” I'll look at the data to be sure, it's a bit weird the way I'm losing control. » While Max Verstappen won another victory at Le Castellet, the gap in the championship is now 63 points between the world champion and Charles Leclerc.

“We will do the accounts at the end of the season. If we miss 25 or 30 points, I know where it will come from, declared the Monegasque. I could only blame myself. We will see at the end of the championship at this level I do not deserve to win the championship. The level is very high and the two mistakes, at Imola and here, hurt. But we need to analyze what happened with the car. I couldn't put reverse into gear, but that's a detail. »
