Before Lance stroll does not cause damage to his Aston Martin in EL2, Charles Leclerc hit the wall even harder in FP1, and thus deprived himself of participation in the following session. A source of great frustration for the Monegasque.

"First of all, I feel really sorry for the whole team. Obviously, that's never something you want. It was a really stupid crash, he lamented on the microphone of the F1I locked a wheel while braking, but I thought I could take the corner anyway. I knew I was going to end up in the grass, but I thought it would be enough to avoid the wall. Unfortunately, once I was in the grass, I realized there was no more room.

Although Ferrari may have been able to repair the damage, the driver of the Team recalled that the regulation did not allow it. “It was an error of judgment… but a costly one. The wheel touched the chassis and it cracked it. And since you can’t use two chassis on the same day, that meant the end of the day for me, no more riding, he explainedIt's hard to take, because we lost a lot of laps today."

Ferrari in good shape in Montreal?

While Lewis Hamilton While he has never finished outside the top 5 on Canadian soil in his long career, Charles Leclerc is hoping to have a better weekend than last year at the same circuit. As a reminder, both Ferraris were eliminated in Q2 before retiring from the race the following day in 2024.

“The really positive thing is that I felt really comfortable in the car. I think we were very competitive at that point – even though, of course, it was only the third lap of the day, he pondered. But it doesn't affect my confidence. I'm sure it won't impact my weekend. I'm sure I'll be fast in qualifying. How competitive we'll be is another question. We'll see. But personally, I'm 100%."

Confident, and able to rely on the initial data collected by his British teammate, Charles Leclerc intends to make up for lost time this Saturday, just a few hours before the start of qualifying.

Let's hope that in EL3 he won't come across one of the many marmots that frequent the Île Notre-Dame track!!
