Leclerc angry: “I threw everything in the trash”

As during the tests in Azerbaijan in spring 2019, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) shouted with rage into his radio during the German Grand Prix, held on Sunday July 28 at Hockenheim. The Monegasque finished his effort in the wall, shortly before the halfway mark.

Efficiently returned to second place despite starting in tenth place, the 2017 champion of Formula 2 was trapped by the return of the rain in sector 3. After sliding on the asphalt reserved for drag racing, the Ferrari stopped against the wall of tires and (ironically) against the advertising boards Mercedes :

Honest, Charles Leclerc admitted his wrongs. “I simply made a mistake”, but also pointed out the dangerousness of the asphalt clearances present at the edge of the circuit. “It doesn't take away my mistake, but I find that the asphalt in the last two turns it's just a shame they left this for a race F1

But apart from that, it's my mistake, it's a shame, the team did a good job between yesterday (Saturday) and today to get the car ready. The strategy was good, I threw everything in the trash. It's really a shame. »

In the championship, Charles Leclerc is in fifth position with 21 points behind his teammate Sebastian Vettel
