Leclerc furious with Magnussen and the FIA's lack of logic

Kevin Magnussen (Haas) claimed a new victim on Sunday in Suzuka (Japan). During the first part of the race, the Dane provoked anger in the Sauber clan, after contact with Charles Leclerc.

The Monegasque, preparing to move out onto the pit straight to overtake his opponent, had the unpleasant surprise of seeing Kevin Magnussen suddenly change trajectory. Confused, the partner of Sebastian Vettel in 2019 at Ferrari hit the rear of the Haas, causing a puncture on the Dane's left rear tire and severely damaging his front nose.

Forced to retire a few laps later due to a mechanical problem, Charles Leclerc did not mince his words. “Magnussen is, and always will be, stupid,” he said on the radio.

A few hours after the end of his event, the champion leaving the Formula 2 confirmed his judgment. " For me, there was a similar situation in Kimi (Räikkönen) and Max (Steps) in Spa (in 2016). Max really moved at the last moment and Everyone agreed that it was dangerous to do so.

Everyone also agreed that this should not happen again. But surprisingly, it was tolerated again today. I am therefore going to ask for explanations from the panel of commissioners, in order to know what I can do behind the wheel. »

Indeed, if the incident was placed under investigation, Kevin Magnussen escaped any sanction.
