Leclerc: “Performance has no meaning at the moment”

Quickly placed at the forefront last Monday and Tuesday with the SF90 shod with yellow C3 tires, Sebastian Vettel et Charles Leclerc had set the tempo at the start of the 2019 winter tests in Barcelona, Catalonia.

The weekend did not see the two residents of the Team Ferrari improve their personal references, at a time when several drivers and teams switched to the softer C4 or C5 tires to set the latest times set on the track on Thursday.

Charles Leclerc therefore specifies that the final hierarchy of this week should not be considered absolute. « Performance doesn't make sense at the moment, because there are still tests and the other teams are probably not attacking, any more than us, underlines the Monegasque.

We don't know how much others are sandbagging, so we'll see in the first race. The main objective of these tests is to complete the program set for the day. »

Ferrari completed the second highest number of laps among the teams this week, and has the highest total mileage among the engine manufacturers, with the Scuderia and Haas as representatives of course. F1 Team and Alfa Romeo Racing.
