Leclerc in symbiosis with his Ferrari in Melbourne: “The car is very pleasant to drive”

Fans were waiting to see a car red at the top of the starting grid in Melbourne since 2007. At the time, Kimi Räikkönen had taken his first pole position in the Team Ferrari and Charles Leclerc skimmed the circuits karting in the south-east of France.
Fifteen years later, Ferrari returns to the top of the hierarchy on an Albert Park circuit that has been completely redesigned to increase the spectacle. HAS Melbourne, the Monegasque dominated his subject, by relegating Max Verstappen (Red Bull) by almost three tenths during his last flying lap:

It’s a circuit where I never felt very comfortable during my two previous participations. » In 2018, for his first laps in F1 with Sauber, he recorded the 18th time. A year later, propelled into the legendary Italian team, the champion of F2 2017 had the fifth fastest time.
“I managed to achieve good times during free practice, without managing to put everything together, resumes the Monegasque. I finally made it in Q3! The car is very pleasant to drive here. I'm quite surprised by my pace today. The Red Bulls are fast on long stints: I can’t wait for Sunday. »
