It’s a Charles Leclerc spectator of his teammate's ride Lewis Hamilton who showed up in the mixed zone this Thursday afternoon in Bahrain. No longer on duty after having made his third and final outing of the week a few hours earlier, the Monegasque was able to make an initial assessment after a debriefing with his engineers.

« Three very complicated days, very complicated tests, he summarized to Canal+. Not only us but I think everyone. This is the first time we have had such changeable conditions in Bahrain. Normally it is hot and we don't like it but at least it is the same on all three days. This time it was very cold the first, very cold the second, with rain and a lot of wind, and a third day where it was warmer but with wind... »

This inevitably caused headaches for the engineers, who were forced to rack their brains to offer an optimal SF-25 to Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Nevertheless, it allowed them to collect a lot of data while they were able to test it. in all conditions, explains the Monegasque. But this made the tests very complicated because it was difficult to understand from one day to the next which direction to take because the car has to be set up according to these very different conditions.

To sum it all up, I would say it's a positive test because we managed to do the whole programme we were aiming for but we are going into the first race with a few more unknowns. But I think that will be the case for all the teams because of these changing conditions.. » It remains to be seen where Charles Leclerc and Ferrari will be at the season launch in Australia (March 14-16), the only place where they will be able to get a real idea of the hierarchy.
