Leclerc ready to show patience at Ferrari

At 22 years, Charles Leclerc still has his whole life ahead of him. But in Formula 1, time can flow in a distorted way and the years go by at full speed.

ask to Max Verstappen, barely older but already in his 6th world campaign without having had the opportunity to really play for the title.

Given the level of competitiveness of Ferrari, its Monegasque rival, under contract with Maranello until 2024, seems condemned to having to show the same patience. The leaders of the Scuderia have already warned that the return to the forefront of the venerable Italian institution will probably not take place before the technical revolution of 2022.

« I don't really have a choice, Leclerc said when asked if he was willing to wait that long. That will take time. I am ready to wait but it is also my duty and my job to help make this process as short as possible to get the team back to where it deserves to fight. I am ready to take on this challenge.

The most important thing is to try to understand why we are struggling so much this year. This will help us establish a solid foundation for the future. ».

In the meantime, Ferrari is preparing to experience another complicated weekend on its Monza grounds after the defeat at Spa-Francorchamps.

« We're not going to lie, it won't be an easy meeting for us, told Sebastian Vettel for his last Italian Grand Prix in red. It is very difficult to imagine a different scenario. That said, we were a little worse than usual in Belgium so I hope we can get back to a decent level this weekend. Even if we know that this kind of plot makes us suffer ».

Suffering, fans have unfortunately been used to it for a long time.
