Leclerc delighted by the pace displayed by his SF1000

After a start to the season to forget, Ferrari has been making progress for several weeks. The Portuguese Grand Prix confirmed this trend. If Sebastian Vettel finished 10th, it’s Charles Leclerc who achieved a very good result for the Team with his 4th place.

« I am extremely happy, savored the Monegasque before moving on. Not because we finished on the same lap as the leader but because the race pace was very good today (Sunday). We suffered a lot at the beginning (dropped to 8th after the start, editor’s note.) which made us lose time but in the end we made up some time. So I'm overall satisfied with our performance today ».

Eighth after the lights went out, Charles Leclerc was able to find the necessary resources to move up the rankings until he found his initial place behind the Mercedes et Max Verstappen. A sign that the SF1000 is doing better and better.

« It was difficult because during the first half of the race I had to be very patient. I was passed everywhere. Then, lap after lap I felt the car gaining power and it paid off. I felt good there (...) It feels good to be 4th ».

The races pass and the Scuderia regains momentum. A good omen for the end of the season and next year.
