Leclerc under investigation and disappointed: “We are not fast enough”

Whether it's raining or the sun is shining, the Ferrari SF 1000 hardly seems to appreciate the exercise of qualifications. On the Red Bull Ring (Austria) soggy, Charles Leclerc didn't even reach the Q3 milestone because of a too weak 11th time in Q2.

The Monegasque was not looking for excuses at the Canal+ microphone. “ Quite honestly, we're not fast enough. I think we were 1″7, 1″8 of the fastest. The balance of the car was quite good during the first run.

But I think we lost this balance in the following attempts. That's more my fault. Afterwards, I was still quite close to Seb (Hag, 10th), But it's a pity. »

The double winner in Formula 1 prefer to remember new aerodynamic package brought by the Scuderia in Styria this weekend. “ I'm quite happy with the improvements made on the dry track. In any case, I took a slightly more aggressive position on the adjustment of the car

I think this will help me on dry surfaces tomorrow (Sunday), with a little more “front” on the car. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. »

As if that were not enough, the track marshals lead two investigations into Charles Leclerc at the end of the day: one for possibly embarrassing Daniil Kvyat (Alpha Tauri, 14th) in qualifying, the other for not immediately entering the pits during the red flag at the end of Q1, when Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) stopped at the side of the track.
