The Sauber team will not appeal

Following solid performances, Sergio Perez et Kamui Kobayashi passed under the checkered flag of the Australian Grand Prix in 7th and 8th position, allowing Sauber to start the 2011 season in the best possible way. Unfortunately the stewards excluded the two cars, after detecting that the radius of curvature of part of the rear wing was not in accordance with the regulations for a few millimeters.

If initially the Swiss team had announced that it wanted to appeal, this will ultimately not be the case.

“This does not give us any advantage in terms of performance, but the fact is that it is not in accordance with the regulations, underlines Technical Director James Key. We have noted the decision of the commissioners. We have since found that there was an issue in our dimension verification process on this item. We have already taken the necessary measures to ensure that this type of thing no longer happens in the future. »
