Red Bull's special decorations (2004-2018)

To dress up your new frame for the 2018 season Formula 1, Red Bull chose a camouflage-style decoration. This original color is not intended to last because it will not be used during the Grands Prix.

This is not the first time that the Austrian brand has distinguished itself from other teams with rather original tastes, as this compilation of images proves.

1. Red Bull (ex-Jaguar) R5, 2004
After purchasing the Jaguar Racing team, Red Bull had to improvise a livery for the first winter tests held in early December in Barcelona (Spain). The Jaguar loses its British green for a light blue and a gray directly copied from the colors of the small energy can.

2. Red Bull RB1, 2005 Monaco Grand Prix
In its early days, Red Bull stood out in the cold world of F1, with its gigantic hospitality, its various events in the paddocks, and its hard-hitting communications. On the occasion of the cinema release of Star Wars III, Revenge of the Sith, the legendary characters of the saga are invited to the stands. The mechanics are even dressed as Stormtroopers!

On the track, David Coulthard and Vitantonio Liuzzi wore the Star Wars logo with flames, but were forced to retire.

3. Red Bull RB2, 2006 Monaco Grand Prix
Same place, and same marketing operation linked to American cinema. This time, the pilots are dressed in Superman's suit, for the film Superman Returns. The US hero's superpowers carry David Coulthard to 3rd place, Red Bull's first podium in the discipline. The Scotsman will even collect his trophy with the famous red cape!

4. Red Bull RB3, 2007 British Grand Prix
To promote the spinal cord injury research association Wings for Life, Red Bull is inviting all donors to put a photograph of their face on the body of the RB3. Commendable initiative, even if the result is slightly crazy in the distance.

The two Red Bulls of Mark Webber and David Coulthard will not score any points.

5. Red Bull RB4, 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix
In the same vein, Wings for Life reappears on the occasion of David Coulthard's farewell to F1. The decor is pure white, but the adventure ends at Senna's S, where the Briton is hit by Kazuki Nakajima (Williams).

6. Red Bull RB8, 2012 British Grand Prix
Initiative identical to that seen at Silverstone in 2007. For each donation of at least 15 euros to Wings for Life, fans had their photo stuck on the usual decoration (blue, red and yellow) and the Red Bull.

On board, Mark Webber will present Fernando Alonso in the final laps to win the race.

7. Red Bull RB11, 2015 winter testing
The famous camouflage decoration used during the 2015 pre-season tests was a great success among followers. Unfortunately, Red Bull decided to return to a much more sensible livery for the events…
