The teams disagree on qualifying

According to the BBC, the elimination qualifying format will be retained for the Bahrain Grand Prix contested on April 3 due to disagreement between the teams during the Commission F1 which met on Tuesday March 22.

If the teams were unanimous in returning to the old format adopted until 2015, this proposal did not appear during the meeting. The F1 Commission only proposed keeping the qualifying format used at the Australian GP on March 19 or increasing the first two qualifying sessions by one minute and returning to the old format for Q3.

Due to a lack of prior agreement, the teams were unable to be unanimous in selecting one of the two proposals. However, an agreement between all the teams is necessary for a change to the regulations to be made during the season.
