Lotus' hopes for Monaco

Since the last Grand Prix in Barcelona, the Lotus team seems to have started its comeback and hopes to be at the forefront again in Monaco. The stable ofenstone is 8th in the constructors' championship with 4 points and must absolutely materialize on the Monaco slide, to confirm the good dispositions seen in Catalonia.

Romain Grosjean notes the progress of its E22 since the start of the year. “It’s good to have scored points in Barcelona, but also to have been able to qualify fifth,” said the Frenchman. If we can do the same thing in Monaco it will be great. The circuit is narrow, bumpy and slippery but the team worked hard during testing in Barcelona to get there. When you look at where we were in Australia and where we are now, there has been enormous progress. »

The Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado is also looking forward to following the rails of the legendary urban circuit, he who won in the Principality in GP2 in 2007 and 2009, but also in FR 3.5 in 2006: “I’ve managed to be pretty quick there in the past. It’s a very special weekend, the atmosphere is unique. The circuit is really testing and you have to anticipate the evolution of the track as the sessions progress. It's very difficult to be fast especially since you can hardly overtake. It's hard, but not impossible. »

The first laps in Monaco will traditionally take place on Thursday morning.
