Barcelona and Bahrain tests confirmed

The contours of this new season of F1 are starting to take shape little by little! Less than two months before the start, we officially know the dates of the pre-season tests for the ten teams in the paddock. As expected, the first three days of testing will take place on the Barcelona-Catalonia circuit in Spain, before traveling, two weeks later, to Bahrain, where the season will start on March 18.

Barcelona behind closed doors, Bahrain in full

The recovery for this brand new generation of single-seaters will therefore be done in two stages. Barcelona will initially welcome them (from February 23 to 25), for the very first winter tests, behind closed doors this time. By mutual agreement, F1 and the ten teams have announced that no media coverage of the event will be possible. The actors will communicate at the end of the day mainly on their social networks, where some photos and times will be published.

It will only be two weeks later that the veil on these new single-seaters will be fully revealed, in Bahrain (from March 10 to 12), less than a week before the start of this 2022 campaign. Fans will finally be able to be present on place, like the media, which will provide the traditional live television coverage of this official test weekend.

Obviously, the launch of this 2022 season promises to be fascinating from every point of view, with large-scale changes at the technical level. The teams have also started to communicate around their future presentation of car, to start with Aston Martin et McLaren on February 10 and 11.

No audience at BCN: terrible! The lockout and the US-style spectacle (23 races, DRS, soothing information all year round on the official website...) are very disappointing.
