The Mercedes return to the front in EL3 at Silverstone

Everything is back to normal on the Silverstone circuit (Great Britain), this Saturday August 1st. At least, if you're part of the team Mercedes. While the Red Bull then the Racing Points distinguished themselves during free practice on Friday, the Star brand returned to its usual position: in front of everyone.

Valtteri Bottas indeed set the best time in the third and final free practice session, ahead of his teammate champion Lewis Hamilton (+0''138). Max Verstappen (Red Bull) is already sticking its tongue out in third place, three tenths behind. The fastest on Friday afternoon, Lance stroll (Racing Point), stays around (4th).

In the clan of Team, nothing is going well for Sebastian Vettel (13th). The four-time world champion only recorded around twenty laps this Saturday morning before reporting the same problem as the day before: “Something is moving under my brake pedal.” Before that, the German had experienced difficulties with the unstable behavior of his Ferrari.

On a track about fifteen degrees cooler than Friday, the returning Nico Hulkenberg (Racing Point) is in the top 10, almost a second behind the leader and three tenths behind his Canadian teammate.

After a chassis change carried out last night, Daniel Ricciardo (Renault) signed the eighth time, ahead of his French comrade Esteban Ocon (12th). The first Frenchman classified is Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri, 10th).

We had to wait until the last quarter of an hour forAlexander albon (Red Bull) can see the end of his garage. The Thai waited a long time for the mechanics to finish repairing his damaged bike in Free Practice 2. The battery was notably replaced.

This was not enough to bring him back to the top of the basket (13th), particularly following a time invalidated after a trajectory that was too wide at the Copse bend.

At the bottom of the table, we find the  Williams and Alfa Romeo, including that of Antonio Giovinazzi, which benefits from a new braking energy recovery system (MGU-K).
