Engines Ferrari correspond well to the technical regulations. This is what emerged from the FIA investigation after suspicions were raised by adversaries who expressed doubts about a possible exceeding of the authorized threshold for energy recovery (120kW).
“We have the satisfaction of seeing that everything is in order, commented FIA race director Charlie Whiting in The Mail on Sunday. The issue gained momentum with unsubstantiated allegations spreading through the paddock like wildfire. This came from a former engine engineer at Ferrari now at Mercedes."
The British newspaper specified that this engineer would be Lorenzo Sassi and that the request for an investigation had been proposed by Mercedes via technical director James Allison.
