Returning motorhomes, 10 more people allowed per stable

We hadn't seen them yet this season; we can now see them from our perch in the media center at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium).

Motorhomes, these imposing reception structures which serve as reception, hospitality and catering areas for the teams and their guests during European Grands Prix, have made their return to the paddock.

En due to the health protocol put in place by the FIA this season to counter the Coronavirus pandemic, the team personnel was limited juntil then 80 people per team, including 60 dedicated to the operation of single-seaters.

If the engineering structures of each team were present at the rear of the garages, they faced a group of prefabs that the teams rented so that drivers, physical trainers, managers, press officers, and marketing managers could work in the day.

The stables also had to call on an external catering service due to lack of space, a costly situation, between rental of a dedicated space and a rather steep package per person, which was starting to make the teams grumble.

Two days ago, the sporting regulations F1 2020 has been adapted to increase the limit of authorized personnel on site from 80 to 90 people. The comeback of motorhomes will allow the stables to feed all these little people under their own roof, while we understand that some team owners were not unhappy to find their spacious offices.
