Like the fans with overtaking, the team bosses were invited to elect the 10 best drivers of the 2021 season in turn. The 20 drivers on the grid being part of the election, the team principals had to distribute points, according to the racing scale with 25 for the first and 1 for the 10th, thus allowing the F1 to produce a final ranking.

It comes as no surprise that Max Verstappen et Lewis Hamilton monopolized the first two places with the Dutchman ahead of the Englishman as was already the case at the end of the championship. Sparkling with McLaren, Lando Norris took the last place in the Top 3, just ahead Carlos Sainz, impressive for his first year at Ferrari, and Charles Leclerc.

Very consistent in qualifying but a little more difficult in the race, Pierre Gasly ranked 7th behind the returning Fernando Alonso. The two men ended the 2021 campaign with a podium each (Azerbaijan for the Norman, Qatar for the Spaniard) but it was the second who enabled his team, well helped by his teammate Esteban Ocon, to secure 5th place among the Manufacturers.

Present for the first time in his career on an F1 podium (Belgian Grand Prix), George Russell appears in 8th place in this ranking. Winners once each, Valtteri Bottas (Türkiye) and Esteban Ocon (Hungary) complete this Top 10.
