The season has barely ended but the teams of F1 remained in Abu Dhabi for days of testing. The Yas Marina circuit will host the Pirelli tests this December 14 and 15, where the drivers will ride in single-seaters equipped with new 18-inch tires which will come into force next season.
The first surprise to note among the participants was the absence Lewis Hamilton over his two days. George Russell will pilot the Mercedes this Tuesday and Wednesday. At the house of Red Bull, Max Verstappen, just titled, will be there. He will drive during the first day and will then give way to his teammate Sergio Perez. For McLaren, Aston Martin, Alpha Tauri et Alpine, the usual holders of this season will be on board their car.
Ferrari will roll Charles Leclerc and Antonio Fuoco for the first day and Carlos Sainz will take over. Alfa Romeo will align its new line-up for 2022, with Valtteri Bottas this Tuesday and Guanyu-Zhou who will be behind the wheel on Wednesday. Finally, Nikita mazepin positive for Covid-19 and absent from the last Grand Prix of the season, will be replaced by Pietro Fittipaldi. The Brazilian will team up with Mick Schumacher. The stable Williams has not announced its participants.
