For two days, the announcements in the Paddock in Formula 1 have multiplied. Between the departure of Fernando Alonso for Aston Martin, the announcement of the pilot duo ofAlpine in 2023 and the denial ofOscar piastri. All these twists and turns did not fail to make the pilots react on social networks. But it was above all the about-face of the Australian pilot which surprised many people. So, whether they have gone through the queen discipline or whether they are hoping for a seat in the future, everyone came to bring their little grain of salt.

With twists and turns that can happen at any time, everyone is glued to their screens waiting for the next episode. A situation well summarized by Mercedes. To be able to follow carefully, some pilots like Pato O'Ward and Romain Grosjean decided to bring out the popcorn.

Pilot in Indycar at ArrowMcLaren, the Mexican couldn't help but draw the parallel with the Alex Palou affair between McLaren and Chip Ganassi Racing. A connection also made by Filipe Albuquerque.

Still on the other side of the Atlantic, Pato O'Ward is not the only driver signed with McLaren to have reacted. Felix Rosenqvist, who was recently extended until 2023, couldn't believe it.

The “PiastriGate” unleashes the crowds

Marcus Ericsson even went a little further by engaging in the game of predictions. The last winner of the Indianapolis 500 made the bet on a 100% tricolor duo at Alpine with Esteban Ocon et Pierre Gasly.

If Fernando Alonso's announcement had already unleashed the crowds, Oscar Piastri's denial only reignited the flame a little more. Giedo van der Garde even went so far as to call this situation “PiastriGate”.

While for some Theo Pourchaire could be a candidate to succeed Fernando Alonso, the Habs preferred to smile. Just like Felipe Drugovich.

Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso who has been causing chaos since announcing his departure Alpine for Aston Martin Monday morning is enjoying his vacation in Spain. The veteran of the grid has certainly also taken out the popcorn and is now seeing the damage caused by his announcement.
