The noose is tightening around the FIA and its president Mohammed Ben Sulayem, whose recent measures have been very badly received by the main stakeholders: the drivers. A few weeks ago, Carlos Sainz had expressed his dissatisfaction pointing out that they were already too limited in what they can say publicly.

More recently, these are those of the WRC who spoke out in reaction to the heavy fine imposed on Adrien fourmaux for inappropriate language in Sweden, through their own association, the WoRDA (World Rally Drivers Alliance) which is inspired by that in Formula 1, the GPDA. In this time of tension, drivers of all categories are seeking answers to their questions while the FIA is leading a crusade against the slightest insult uttered publicly.

But in the end, it is not so much the fact that it is being punished that provokes their anger, but the fact that The Federation has drastically increased its sanctions with a gradation in the severity of the punishments given which will take into account possible repeat offences. In F1 for example this can go up to 120 euros with a withdrawal of points and even a suspension from the Grand Prix.

« The fines are quite severe, so I think it's something we would like to discuss with the FIA., slide Oscar piastri nearby Australian tabloid Herald Sun, open to dialogue.

They can't expect us to say absolutely nothing when we're in the car. We're full of adrenaline. We talk to our team first and foremost. ».

With his words, the Australian wants to make it clear that things should not go too far. According to the pilot McLaren, who understands that pilots must be " respectful ", the FIA must succeed in distinguishing between action on and off the track.

« You should always be respectful to people., adds the Aussie. Outside of the car, it is perfectly fair to expect us not to swear, that's how society works.. » And one more. Eventually, Mohammed Ben Sulayem will have to review his policy because he does not only attract good opinions in the community, and at this rate it will end up being unfavorable to him.

Drivers forget that it is first and foremost THEY who make a grand prix! So to make yourself heard by the FIA guy, make an impromptu strike on his circuit.... Believe me, you will then be heard :):):)

Talking with the FIA and its president Mohammed Ben Sulayem, good luck talking with such an autocrat who cares little for democracy and good governance!
